- v1.2.2 (for FFXIV v3.3)
- The Low-Help challenge run involves getting by, by your own means. Obtaining items and
- equipment from others defeats this purpose; the idea is to only use the things you get
- yourself and create what you need from them.
- rules:
- 1. cannot use, buy, or keep any items given by or from other players or NPCs. all equipment
- and other items must be discarded asap. look in the notification area when you receive
- anything and discard the amount given.
- exceptions:
- - starting equipment, including anything not equipped yet
- - all lv1 main hands
- - any crafting item that can only be found at shops (ie: marbled eye)
- - items needed for quests (used only for quest and discarded asap)
- - uniques (cannot be used unless necessary to a quest, then removed - keep if you want,
- but never use)
- - minions, mounts, barding
- - any golden saucer item
- - fishing tackles that cannot be obtained anywhere but a vendor or levequest
- 2. cannot purchase crafting materials. these must be obtained by hand.
- 3. dungeon drops, GC equipment, and hall of the novice are earned, and thus allowed.
- 4. getting dark matter with these rules is unreasonably hard to do, and as a result,
- paying for repairs at NPCs is accepted.
- 5. cannot use retainers to obtain items for you.
- optional:
- - do not accept crystals from quests until you obtain 1 of that kind on your own
- (since you can't discard a certain amount)
- - accept Allagan coins when given the option, and sell
- - cannot purchase GC goods, and pass on all dungeon drops - equipment can only be crafted
